The U.S. ranks 134th in parental leave
According to the Clearinghouse on International Developments in Child, Youth and Family Policies, the United States ranks 134th out of 164 countries in terms of guaranteed maternity and parental leave policies. Slovenia ranks first.

This one is just depressing…
As someone who is currently exploring her -shall we say limited- options regarding maternity leave, I find this disheartening that the U.S. does not recognize the benefits of allowing its workforce to have more leave during such a tumultuous time in one’s life. It is difficult enough to figure out how I will be able to take the most leave possible to bond with my baby yet also attempt to figure out how we will survive without my income for three months…
