The U.S. ranks 120th in government size score
According to the Heritage Foundation’s 2009 Index of Economic Freedom, the United States had a government size score of 59.6, which made it rank one hundred and twentieth in that category. Myanmar ranked first, with a score of 98.5. For the Heritage Foundation, “government size” refers to government spending as a percent of GDP. The higher the score, the lower the government spending.
