The U.S. ranks 7th in endangered birds
According to the World Resources Institute, there are seventy four endangered bird species in the United States, which makes the United States rank seventh in that category. Brazil ranks first, with one hundred twenty two endangered bird species.
In the world as a whole, there are 1217 endangered bird species.

seems odd that the number of threatened bird and the number of endangered birds are both 1217?
Oops. I guess back in 2009 when I was putting up these entries at a breakneck rate, I didn’t realize in May (endangered birds), that I had already put up that ranking in March (threatened birds).
