The U.S. ranks 2nd in milk production
According to data gathered between 2001 and 2003 by the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, the United States produced 76,487,000 tonnes of milk, or 12.7% of the world’s total milk production. That was enough to make the United States rank second in that category. India ranked first, producing 87,733,000 tonnes of milk, or 14.6% of the world total.
