According to the Melbourne Mercer Global Pension Index, the United States ranks ninth out of eighteen countries ranked according to financial security in retirement, with a score of 59.0. Denmark ranks first, with a score of 82.9.  The top ten countries (and their scores) are:pension

According to the OECD “Better Life Index,” the United States ranks sixth in terms of overall quality of life among thirty-six industrialized democracies. The top ten countries are:

The U.S. ranks 22nd in deaths by ultraviolet radiation

According to the World Health Organization, in 2002 the United States had deaths attributable to ultraviolet (UV) radiation at a rate of 2.93 per 100,000 population. That is enough to make the United States rank twenty-second out of one hundred ninety countries ranked in that category. Niue ranked first, with a UV attributable death rate of 2481.51 per 100,000 population.

The U.S. ranks 96th in adolescent fertility

According to the United Nations Development Programme, in 2010 there were 41.2 babies born to women aged 15 to 19 for every 1000 women aged 15 to 19 in the United States. This makes the United States rank ninety-sixth out of one hundred ninety-four countries ranked in that category. Niger ranks first, with an adolescent fertility rate of 207.1.

According to the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, in 2011 there were 5,950 plastic surgeons working in the United States, or 18.7% of all plastic surgeons working in the world. That is enough to make the United States rank first in that category.

The U.S. ranks 6th in public expenditures on health care

According to the United Nations Development Program, in 2010 public spending on health care amounted to 9.5% of GDP. This is enough to make the United States rank sixth out of one hundred eighty-eight countries ranked in that category. The Marshall Islands ranked first, with public health expenditure amounting to 15.0% of GDP.

The U.S. ranks 22nd in gender equality

According to the World Economic Forum, the United States has a gender equality score of 0.7373 (out of a possible 1.0000), which makes the United States rank twenty-second out of one hundred thirty five countries ranked in that category. Iceland ranks first, with a gender equality score of 0.8640.

According to the Durex study “Face of Global Sex 2012,” 65.3% of Americans report having used a condom during their most recent sexual experience. That is enough to make the United States rank eleventh out of thirty-seven countries ranked in that category. China ranks first, with 78.9% of Chinese reporting having used a condom during their most recent sexual experience.

According to the Durex study “Face of Global Sex 2012,” 39.6% of Americans report having used a condom during their first sexual experience. That is enough to make the United States rank thirty-first out of thirty-seven countries ranked in that category. Brazil ranks first, with 66.0% of Brazilians reporting having used a condom during their first sexual experience.

According to the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, in 2011 there were 284,351 breast augmentation surgeries performed in the United States, or 23.6% of all such surgeries. That is enough to make the United States rank first in that category.
