According to a study published in The Lancet Oncology in 2008, the United States ranks second out of thirty nations in the five year survival rate for women diagnosed with breast cancer. Cuba ranks first.

According to the Global Footprint Network, the United States has consumption footprint of 9.42 global hectares per person, which makes the United States rank second in that category. The United Arab Emirates ranks first, at 9.46 global hectares per person.

The U.S. ranks 2nd in egg exports

According to the International Trade Centre, in 2005 the United States exported $228,321,000 worth of eggs, egg yolks, and egg albumen, which accounted for 10.7% of all such exports in the world. That was enough to make the United States rank second in that category. The Netherlands ranked first, exporting $516,194,000 of egg products, or 24.1% of the world total.

The U.S. ranks 2nd in grasslands

According to the World Resources Institute, the United States has 1,279,000 square kilometers of herbaceous grasslands, or 12.1% of the world total. This makes the United States rank second in that category. China ranks first, with 1,815,000 square kilometers, or 17.2% of the world total.

The U.S. ranks 2nd in marijuana

According to the 2007 UNODC World Drug Report, “Mexico and the USA may be the world’s largest cannabis herb producers” (page 104). According to the 2008 UNODC World Drug Report, cannabis production in Mexico was estimated at 7,400 metric tonnes, and cannabis production in the United States was 4,700.

Thus, the United States ranks second in cannabis herb production. Mexico ranks first.

According to the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, in 2007 the United States produced 31,912,000 tonnes of sugar beets, which was enough to make the United States ranks second in that category. France ranked first, producing 32,338,000 tonnes.

The U.S. ranks 2nd in apple production

According to the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, in 2007 the United States produced 4,237,730 tonnes of apples, or 6.6% of the world’s total apple production. That was enough to make the United States rank second in that category. China ranked first, producing 27,507,000 tonnes, or 42.8% of the world total.
