The U.S. ranks 60th in wine consumption

According to the Wine Institute, in 2005, 8.69 litres of wine were consumed per person in the United States, making it rank sixtieth for per capita wine consumption. The Vatican City ranked first, with 62.02 litres consumed per capita.

    Yeah, perhaps. But, I’m wondering what specific wines they are drinking. I suspect, from the quantity consumed, that they are having a glass or two with dinner too.

    In the 16th century, some Cardinal is quoted, after being questioned about the high quality of wine he was buying, saying something about how he didn’t want God to see him grimace when he was taking communion.
