The U.S. ranks 3rd in fruits and vegetables
According to the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, in 2004, five countries (China, India, the United States, Brazil, and Turkey) accounted for fifty-seven percent of all fruit and vegetable production in the world. The United States ranked third, with five percent of the total. China ranked first, with thirty-seven percent of the total.
