According to the International Trade Centre, in 2005 the United States ranked twenty-seventh in terms of the dollar value of silk imports. India ranked first.

The U.S. ranks 4th in phosphate reserves

According to the U.S. Geological Survey’s 2009 Mineral Commodity Summary, the United States has 8% of the world’s phosphate reserves, enough to make the United States rank fourth in the world. Morocco and the Western Sahara ranks first, with 38% of the world’s phosphate reserves.
