The U.S. ranks 1st in soybean planting
According to the USDA, in 2005 there were 29.29 million hectares planted with soybeans, or 31.6% of the world’s total soybean plantings, which was enough to make the United States rank first in that category. Five countries–the United States, Brazil, Argentina, China, and India–acounted for more than 90% of the soybeans planted in the world.
