The U.S ranks 4th in snow and ice

According to the World Resources Institute, in 1992-1993 (the most recent year for available data), 71,501 square kilometers of the United States were under permanent snow and ice cover, which makes the United States rank fourth in that category. Greenland ranks first, with 1,973,980 square kilometers covered in snow and ice.


The U.S. ranks 10th in potato exports

According to the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, in 2004 the United States exported $72,595,000 worth of potatoes, or 3.3% of the world’s total potato exports. That was enough to make the United States rank tenth in that category. The Netherlands ranked first, exporting $497,983,000, or 22.7% of the world total.
