The U.S. ranks 39th in migration
According to the United Nations’ publication, International Migration, 2006, the United States has an average annual net migration rate (i.e., people moving into and out of the United States) of 3.98 people per 1,000 population, a rate that makes the United States rank thirty-ninth in that category. The United Arab Emirates ranks first, with a net migration rate of 49.59 per 1,000.
