The U.S. ranks 18th in public pensions

According to the OECD, the United States spends 6.8% of the Net National Income (NNI) on public pensions, which makes the United States rank eighteenth out of thirty OECD nations in that category. Italy ranks first, at 16.6%. The OECD average is 8.5%.

The U.S. ranks 1st in female science students

According to UNESCO, in 2006 there were 599,599 women in American colleges and universities majoring in the sciences, which makes the United States rank first in that category.
