The U.S. ranks 3rd in iodine

According to the British Geological Survey, in 2006 the United States produced 1,220,000 kilograms of iodine, or 4.6% of the world’s total, which is enough to make the United States rank third in that category. Chile ranks first, producing 16,494,000 kilograms, or 61.8% of the world’s total.

According to the International Trade Centre, in 2005 the United States imported $795,417,000 worth of unmanufactured tobacco, which makes the United States rank first in that category.
