The U.S. ranks 7th in endangered birds

According to the World Resources Institute, there are seventy four endangered bird species in the United States, which makes the United States rank seventh in that category. Brazil ranks first, with one hundred twenty two endangered bird species.

In the world as a whole, there are 1217 endangered bird species.

The U.S. ranks 122nd in population growth

According to the World Health Organization, between 1996 and 2006 the United States had annual population growth rate of 1.0%, which made the United States tied for one hundred twenty second with Argentina, Canada, Iceland, Mauritius, Myanmar, Saint Lucia and Zimbabwe. The United Arab Emirates rank first, with an annual population growth rate of 5.0%.

The U.S. ranks 3rd in innovation

According to the Economist Intelligence Unit, the United States has an innovation index score of 9.50, which makes the United States tied for third with Finland in that category. Japan ranks first, with a score of 10.00.
