The U.S. ranks 2nd in synthetic fibers
According to the International Trade Centre, in 2005 the United States imported $733,433,000 worth of “synthetic fibres suitable for spinning,” or 10.37% of the world total. That was enough to make the United States rank second in that category. China ranks first, importing $1,382,770,000 worth, or 19.55% of the world total.
