The U.S. ranks 3rd in horse imports

According to the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, in 2006 the United States imported 25,782 head of horses, or 10.0% of the world’s total horse imports. That was enough to make the United States rank third in that category. Italy ranked first, importing 78,433 head of horses, or 30.3% of the world total.
