The U.S. ranks 11th in refugees

According to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), at the end of 2008 there were 279,548 refugees in the United States, which makes the United States rank eleventh in that category. Syria ranks first, with 1,105,698 refugees living within its borders.
