The U.S. ranks 1st in beet pulp exports
According to the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, in 2007 the United States exported 441,130 tonnes of beet pulp, or 19.7% of the world’s beet pulp exports. That was enough to make the United States rank first in that category.

It’s gratifying to know that the US ranks numero uno in Beet Pulp exports. Beet Pulp (unlike beet roots or beet greens or beat me daddy, eight to the bar) is a much-maligned, little-understood commodity. It has that essential American quality that we all need to acknowledge and appreciate: it’s chock full of vitamins, but it’s hell on white button-down Oxfords. I had been worried about beet pulp. But no longer. Have you looked into lemon zest? celery paste? Go, USA!
