The U.S. ranks 1st in suppy of cocoa beans

According to FAOstat, the United States used about 796318.03 tonnes of cocoa beans, or 19.15% of the world’s cocoa beans. That’s enough for the U.S. to rank first in that category.

    Supply, or use?

    Some of the rankings on the site were compiled by undergraduate students in a course I taught. As much as I stressed the need for rigor and accuracy, the message didn’t always get through. I think in this case, the word “supply” was correct.
