The U.S. ranks 11th in number of internet users

According to UN Data, the U.S. has approximately 73 internet users per 100 individuals. The U.S. ties for 9th in this category alongside Canada and Switzerland, who also have 73 users.  Norway ranks first with 85 users and the Netherlands second with 84 users.

    The heading for this should say “per capita” rather than just raw “number”.

    Some of the entries were prepared by students who were new to this kind of work and not always as attentive to details as one might like.

    This is also 2006 data, so while the rankings may not have changed that much (I don’t know), the absolute numbers are likely significantly higher across the board by now.

    You are right, of course. As a one person operation doing this as a sideline activity, one of the things I’ve struggled with is the desire both to create new rankings and the desire to continue updating old rankings. I’m well aware that every ranking here will at some point become obsolete.
