The U.S. ranks 21st in state legitimacy

According to the Fund for Peace, the United States has a score of 2.5 on the “Criminalization and/or Delegitimization of the State” indicator of the 2010 Failed State Index. That makes the United States rank twenty-first out of one hundred and seventy-seven ranked countries. Finland ranked first with a score of 0.7.

The U.S. ranks 70th in women in government

According to the Inter-Parliamentary Union, 16.8% of federally elected officials in the United States are women, which makes the United States tied for seventieth with Turkmenistan in that category. Rwanda ranks first, at 56.3%.
