According to the Small Arms Survey, in 2008 the United States imported $1,220,000,000 worth of small arms and light weapons. That is enough to make the United States rank first out of fifty-nine countries ranked in that category.

According to the Small Arms Survey, in 2008 the United States exported $715,000,000 worth of small arms and light weapons. That was enough to make the United States rank first out of thirty-seven weapons-exporting countries ranked in that category.
The U.S. ranks 3rd in small arms destruction
According to the Small Arms Survey, between 1991 and 2006 the United States destroyed 830,000 small firearms, which made the United States’ small firearm destruction program rank third in the world. Russia ranked first, destroying 1,781,696 small firearms.
The U.S. ranks 1st in small arms ownership
According to the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, the United States ranks first both in the total number of civilian firearms and in per capita ownership of small firearms.
