According to the Olympic.org, the U.S. has won 2 gold medals in Mens Ice Hockey since 1920. That is enough to make the United States tied for third with Sweden. Canada and the Soviet Union are tied for first with eight gold medals each.

According to Olympic.org, the United has won two silver medals in Olympic men’s team fencing since 1904, which makes the United States tied for ninth with China and Sweden in that category. Italy ranks first, with nineteen Olympic men’s team fencing silver medals.

According to Olympic.org, American women have won two gold medals in discus throwing in the summer Olympics, which is enough to make the United States rank third out of the seventeen countries who have won gold medals in that event. The Soviet Union/Russia and East Germany/Germany are tied for first at five gold medals each.

The U.S. ranks 4th in women’s 400m gold medals

According to olympic.org, the United States has won one Olympic gold medal in the women’s 400m run, or 8.3% of all gold medals awarded in that event. That makes the United States tied for fourth with Great Britain, the Bahamas, Poland, and the Soviet Union. France ranks first, winning three gold medals, or 25.0% of all gold medals awarded in that event.

According to Olympics.org, American men have won six Olympic gold medals in individual figure skating, or 26.1% of all Olympic gold medals in the history of that event, which makes the United States tied for first with Russia in that category. Just seven countries–the United States, Russia, Sweden, Austria, the United Kingdom, Czechoslovakia, and Germany–have won all the gold medals in that event.
