According to a study published in The Lancet Oncology in 2008, the United States ranks first out of thirty countries in terms of five year survival rates for men diagnosed with prostate cancer.

According to the World Health Organization, in 2004 an estimated 12.1 out of every 100,000 Americans died of prostate cancer, which makes the United States rank forty-sixth in that category. Barbados ranks first, with a death rate of 34.7 out of 100,000.
