According to the CIA World Factbook, in 2012 the United States had a net migration rate of 3.62, which is enough to make the United States rank twenty-sixth out of two hundred twenty-one countries ranked in that category. Qatar ranks first, with a net migration rate of 40.62. According to the Factbook, “net migration” measures “the difference between the number of persons entering and leaving a country during the year per 1,000 persons.”

According to the World Resources Institute, in 2005 the United States emitted 23.4 metric tonnes (CO2 equivalent) of greenhouse gases per capita, which makes the United States rank ninth out of one hundred eighty-six countries ranked in that category. Qatar ranked first, emitting 68.9 metric tonnes per capita.

According to the Global Footprint Network, in 2007 the United States had a carbon footprint of 5.57 global hectares per capita, which makes the United States rank third out of one hundred fifty-two countries ranked in that category. Qatar ranks first, with a carbon footprint of 8.13 global hectares per capita.

According to the 2009 United Nations Human Development Report, immigrants make up 13.0% of the total population of the United States, which makes the United States rank thirty-eighth in that category. Qatar ranks first, with immigrants comprising 80.5% of the total population.

According to islamicweb.com, the United States ranks one-hundred-and-eleventh out of one hundred and thirty ranked countries in terms of the percentage of the population that is Muslim. Afghanistan, Bahrain, Libya, Maldives, Mauritania, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, and Western Sahara tied for first.

According to the CIA World Factbook, in 2007 the United States ranked tenth out of 229 countries in terms of gross domestic product (GDP) per capita. Qatar ranked first.
