The U.S. ranks 1st in non-resident hotel arrival

According to data available from the OECD in 2007, the United States had 55,986 non-resident tourists arrive at hotels and similar establishments. This is enough for the United States to rank first in this category.

The U.S. ranks 15th in growth of tourist receipts

According to the World Tourism Organization’s June 2008 issue of World Tourism Barometer, the United States saw an increase of 12.8% in foreign tourist receipts between 2006 and 2007, making the U.S. rank fifteenth in that category. The Philippines ranked first, with an increase of 40.8% in tourist receipts.

According to the World Tourism Organization’s World Tourism Barometer from June, 2008, in 2007 the United States had $96,700,000,000 in foreign tourist receipts, making it rank first in that category. Spain ranked second, with $57,800,000,000 in tourist receipts.

The U.S. ranks 13th in growth in tourism

According to the World Tourism Organization’s June 2008 World Tourism Barometer, the United States saw a 9.8% increase in foreign tourists from 2006 to 2007, making it rank thirteenth in that category. Saudi Arabia ranked first, with a foreign tourism increase of 33.8%.

According to the June, 2008, issue of the UNWTO Tourism Barometer, 56,000,000 foreign tourists visited the United States in 2007, making the U.S. rank third in that category. France ranked first, with 81,900,000 foreign tourists.
