The U.S. ranks 2nd in distance to national capital

According to the World Bank’s World Development Report, 2009, the average geographical distance from any one point in the U.S. to the national capital of Washington, D.C. is 2595 kilometers, which makes the United States rank second in that category. Russia ranks first, with an average distance of 4322 kilometers.
