According to the World Bank, in 2010 the female population in the United States accounted for 50.7% of the total population, which made the United States tied for fifty-ninth in that category with Eritrea, Central African Republic, Myanmar, Zimbabwe, Benin, Mexico, Belize, and the Kyrgyz Republic. Latvia and Ukraine ranked first, with females accounting for 54.0% of their total populations.

The U.S. ranks 122nd in government spending score

According to the Heritage Foundation in its 2010 Index of Economic Freedom, the United States has a “government spending” score of 58.0, which makes the United States rank one hundred and twenty second out of 179 ranked countries. Burma ranks first, with a score of 98.4.

The U.S. ranks 141st in government spending on health

According to data gathered in 2005 by the World Health Organization, government expenditures on health in the United States amounts to 45.1% of total expenditures on health, a percent that makes the United States rank one-hundred-and-forty-first in that category. The United States is sandwiched by Venezuela and Eritrea in that category.

Niue ranks first, with 98.6% of total expenditures on health being covered by the government. At the bottom of the list is Myanmar, at 10.6%.

The U.S. ranks 60th in visa requirements

According to the World Bank, 158 citizens of nations are required to obtain visas in order to travel to the United States, which makes the United States tied for sixtieth (with Guyana) in that category. Afghanistan, American Samoa, Comoros, Djibouti, Laos, Myanmar, North Korea, and Somalia are tied for first, each requiring visas from 192 countries.

The U.S. ranks 122nd in population growth

According to the World Health Organization, between 1996 and 2006 the United States had annual population growth rate of 1.0%, which made the United States tied for one hundred twenty second with Argentina, Canada, Iceland, Mauritius, Myanmar, Saint Lucia and Zimbabwe. The United Arab Emirates rank first, with an annual population growth rate of 5.0%.

The U.S. ranks 120th in government size score

According to the Heritage Foundation’s 2009 Index of Economic Freedom, the United States had a government size score of 59.6, which made it rank one hundred and twentieth in that category. Myanmar ranked first, with a score of 98.5. For the Heritage Foundation, “government size” refers to government spending as a percent of GDP. The higher the score, the lower the government spending.
