The U.S. ranks 8th in potato imports
According to the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, in 2004 the United States imported $84,376,000 worth of potatoes, or 3.6% of the world’s total potato imports, enough to make the United States rank eighth in that category. Spain ranked first, importing $236,913,000 worth of potatoes, or 10.2% of the world’s total.
Total global potato imports in 2004 equaled $2,327,376,000.
